Preparing for the CPACE–Written
Sample Test Questions. To help candidates effectively prepare to take the CPACE–Written, sample test questions are provided, which you may download and print or save as a PDF document. The sample test questions include 10 multiple-choice questions and four constructed-response assignments, an answer key for the multiple-choice questions, and sample responses to the constructed-response assignments. Select "Test Preparation Materials" on the CPACE website to view and print or save the sample test questions.
CBT Tutorials. These tutorials can give you a sense of what you will see when you begin your test at a Pearson Professional Center. The tutorials are available by selecting "Tutorials for Computer-Based Testing" on the CPACE website.
Pearson Professional Centers Tour. The Pearson Professional Centers Tour gives candidates taking the CPACE–Written a virtual tour of a Pearson Professional Center. It includes a video and floorplan to help acquaint the candidate with the Pearson Professional Centers testing experience. Select "Tutorials for Computer-Based Testing" on the CPACE website to view this tour. As noted in the Pearson Professional Centers Tour, some testing programs require two forms of identification at check-in. To take a California educator credentialing examination, such as the CPACE–Written, you will be asked to provide one form of identification. Refer to "What to Bring to the Test Center" for more information on proper identification.
Preparing for the CPACE–Video
The CPACE–Video Procedures Manual, which provides a description of the requirements and process for completing the CPACE–Video, is available as a PDF document by selecting "Test Preparation Materials" on the CPACE website. The purpose of this guide is to provide prospective candidates with detailed information about the test format and submission requirements prior to registering for the test. Once registered, candidates will be provided the CPACE–Video Procedures Manual and the specific task associated with the submission deadline for which they registered. Registered candidates must follow the directions for the assigned task.
